I adopted Luna during a whirlwind chapter of my life. After experiencing some tough losses, I found myself scrolling Pet Finder in my temporary Seattle Airbnb. Growing up, I’d never had a dog (despite my best efforts). In one pleading note to my parents, I actually wrote, “Mom has Dad. Leah (my sister) has Jimmy (my brother). And I have no one.”
Clearly, it didn’t work. But when life threw me a curveball, I knew it was time for a new friend.
Enter Luna, shipped from Texas to my suitcase life in Seattle. Those first weeks were a crash course in dog parenting, complete with unexpected health issues. Despite trying what felt like every possible dog food and spending over $5,000 on emergency vet visits, Luna’s health struggles persisted. Chronic diarrhea, vomiting, skin issues—you name it, we dealt with it.
The turning point? Realizing the healthy eating habits my dietician mom instilled in me could apply to Luna, too. But diving into fresh dog food was overwhelming—expensive custom recipes, conflicting advice, and endless research. I knew there had to be a better way.

So, I rolled up my sleeves and dove fist-first (literally) into canine nutrition. I experimented with homemade recipes, consulted with vets, and slowly but surely, found what worked for Luna. Taking control of her diet changed everything. Her skin cleared up, her energy returned, and those dreaded emergency trips to the vet became a thing of the past. It's been over 3 years since our last emergency vet visit, and Luna's thriving on homemade meals that cost half of what we used to spend.
That's why I created The Doggy Dish™. I wanted to make fresh feeding accessible, affordable, and backed by vets who understand its benefits. Since 2023, we've helped hundreds of devoted dog parents transform their pups' health with simple recipes, meal ideas, and expert advice.
Every success story—from weight loss to shinier coats to regular poops—reminds me why this matters so much. I've been where you are, and I'm here to make your fresh feeding journey easier, more affordable, and full of positive changes for your pup.
From our kitchen to yours, welcome to The Doggy Dish™.

Mom's always talking about my "five pillars" or something. All I know is I get yummy food, lots of exercise, tons of love, fun brain games, and exciting adventures. Life is pretty delicious when your human is obsessed with your happiness!
and immediately give mom’s face a bath.
and let my tongue flop in the wind.
for my morning zoomies and sniff-a-thon.
Mom makes me work for it with a puzzle feeder. Yum!
while I supervise from my comfy bed (every once in a while, she comes over to give me a boop; it’s my favorite).
I think she's planning something delicious for me!
Mom says it's for my "cognitive enrichment,” I say it's for treats.
Time to check if the neighborhood squirrels are behaving.
because... why not? More sniffs, more tail wags.
Mom hides treats, and I become the world's best detective.
